are right around the corner from where I work. Today the protesters got a bit of pepper spray and such, but nothing drastic. They tried to burn an altar which the cops put out in short order, and then a bunch of people jumped in the harbour with life jackets on. The police are out on every street corner, and all the street level shops in our area are boarded up. We're all hoping that there wont be the same violence as in the past.

The WTO is the true ruling body of what happens in our world today. That should be the subject of a lot of media attention...but it gets little unless there is violence, it seems. Yes...the media has a different agenda.

its getting plenty of coverage in Asia. maybe not as much as the WOI, but developing countries without farm subsidies are pretty badly hit when rich countries subsidise their farmers. Does it not get coverage in the US?

I saw that on the news today here in Canada, Deb...
It's getting some coverage in North America.
Which is good.
As a matter of fact, I thought of You while I was watching the clip.

the tenor part in that is fun. one of those "holding a pint of beer walking in place" pieces you have to behave yourself on.

I did a search - first time I'd heard of her. Gorgeous looking artist. Voice kind of a cross between Christina A, Michelle Branch and Shakira - at least the bits that I heard. Does she do a modern take of OHN?
