The ban on the NPD's demonstration at the Holocaust Memorial and the Brandenburg Gate - planned for 8 May - stays, following a court-ruling. Federal Minister for Internal Affairs Schily welcomed the ruling, and said that the tightening of the Law on Public Assemblies had passed its practical test. Neonazis may, however, stage a commemorative wake in Munich on 8 May, according to a ruling by a Bavarian court.
