American commision denies link between Iraq and Al Queda

The 9/11 Commission’s interim report, released last week, didn’t help Bush either. It declared that, contrary to the Administration’s claims, there is no evidence to support that Saddam Hussein helped Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda plan the attacks which killed almost 3,000 people.



“We have no credible evidence that Iraq and Al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States,” one of the staff reports released on Wednesday, June 17, said. “Bin Laden is said to have requested space to establish training camps, as well as assistance in procuring weapons, but Iraq apparently never responded.” The report said that despite evidence of repeated contacts between Iraq and Al Qaeda in the ‘90s, “they do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship.”
