U.S.: 23 troops die in 3 days

Three U.S. Marines were killed Sunday in fighting west of Baghdad,

bringing the total number of U.S. troops killed in three days to 23,

coalition officials said today. Thirteen of the Americans killed died Friday.

The deaths bring the number of U.S. troops killed in Operation "Iraqi

Freedom" to 671 -- 477 hostile and 194 non-hostile.

Michelle Witmer, right, died in Iraq Friday. Her sisters,

shown with their mom, also are in Iraq.

How can you send your daughters for slaying into this Bush

infested insanity, based on lies and hunger for oil????

Operation "Iraqi Freedom".........

Mike, this whole fiasco just makes me so so so so ANGRY. :seismo

I wonder if the majority of people in the US will ever realise just how badly they've been conned.

I'm willing to bet he's going to be voted back into power. I have to believe that the people who support him are fanatics, totally blind, who WANT to believe the lies. I can't see any other explanation for it - how can you refuse to believe incontrovertible evidence that these guys are thieves, liars and murderers????? THAT'S the sad part. Its like "the whole world hates us and Bush is the only one who'll protect us"... :h Worse, they seem so insular, their whole world is only the US, and they don't even want to know what the truth is, or WHY people around the world feel the way they do. They will argue with historic fact and documented proof to the contrary till they are blue in the face, to protect this idiot. :dunno

A scary prospect for us in the rest of the world, cause we will continue to be affected by this madman and his stinking bunch of neo-con men.

ASAP, as far as I'm concerned...

GW has sworn up and down several times now that the US will be out of Iraq by June 30th of this year...IMO, if he fails to keep that promise, he will lose the election in November. If he never intended to keep it, he should never have given a specific date....very stupid to have done so if it wasn't going to happen.

As a former soldier, my heart goes out to the men and women in uniform who are trying to help the people who want it...if they don't want it, leave. Sadly, this is turning into another Vietnam where the politicians muddled through every move and young men and women died daily while they argued about policy....

And don't get me wrong...I ain't no GW lover...rich boys born with a silver spoon in their mouth never did appeal to me...I love the military I used to serve, though, and hate to see these young people die needlessly and for nothing at this point...Saddam is gone, let the people of Iraq decided what they want. If it's a theocracy, so be it.

I run my mouth too much. Soldiers always pay the price for Dumbass Politicians AND Fatass Corporate CEO's.

bush did not say we would be out rather iraq would be incontrol of their gov.

also most americans are not like what debbie said, but john kerry well both went to yale university. i think kerry had a silver spoon. his first wife died and she was worth 300 million. his present wife is worth 500 million. kerry is rumored (i have not checked his voting record) to be most liberal senator. that has a lot to do with it. if kerry won and removed all troups gutted cia (which he tried in the past) might be much worse off. i duno i kind of think ""flip a coin" heads bush tails kerry...

Bro...let me set the record straight...John Kerry is the LAST SOB I'd want in the White House...he flip-flops worse than a fish out of water...talk about a liar...there you have one; a HUGE one.

There really is no choice in this election, like always...you vote for one corrupt bastard or the other...one just has a "D" behind his name and one has an "R"...

I haven't voted for a Republican or Democrat since I got out of the Army because they BOTH Suck!!

I'm a Libertarian...laugh if you want...idealogically beats the crap out of the Big Two. But...Exxon and General Motors OWN the Big Two, so we will never win.

I hear ya, bro...and you're unfortunately Right!! GM, Exxon, Ford, General Electric, IBM, Chrysler, Mobil, Phillip Morris, and AT&T will never allow it; they ain't givin' up their Gravy Train....even if some 18-20 year olds have to be sacrificed in Iraq and elsewhere to maintain it.

Hope the bastards choke on their Prime Rib tonight.

You know what I'd like? We always refer to these companies as "companies", "they", or "them". I'd like to find out the names of some of these nameless individuals. You know...the stockholders. "They" always use CEOs as disposeable frontmen...though they do get paid the big bucks to take the beatings. These CEOs are just puppets and scapegoats, really...chosen for their unfailing ability to mold their personailities, opinions and morals to the whims of the stockholders. The real culprits are the stockholders...they are the greedy ones who bring this all about, yet seldom are mentioned. Wouldn't it be interesting to know who these people are and just how many different stocks they each control. At the very least, I think we should be laying the blame on them...where I think it is due. The Bible says that "the love of money is the root of all evil"...and these boys (and probably girls) certainly qualify in my book.

I agree with Seismic and Rev about the problems in our elections. Although HK may believe people are 'blind' to the behavior of our leaders, the reality is we only have two choices in this 'free' country, and a large percentage of people hate both of them (and that contributes to very low voter turnout also). I can't in good conscience vote for W. this next election, but I really don't want to vote for Kerry just to show my discontent with Bush. It's a no-win situation all the way around.

Agreed...the CEO's and CAO's are more less "hit-men/women" hired by those powers that be...pawns used for the ultimate gain of the wealthy people that hired them...people that couldn't give a Rat's Ass who dies for them and their fortune...long as it ain't them and theirs.

Good point!!

What are the positives for Bush and Kerry both, and what are the negatives for both, and which, on basic human principles would you vote for?

In my view, if Kerry flip flops, Bush all out lies, to far greater cost. If that's not a more heinous flip-flop, I don't know what is. Maybe I'm just not getting it, but what promise has Bush fulfilled for you, I seriously need to try and understand that.

I think at the end of the day its not principles or anything that matters, but likes and dislikes. This is why a mother would love her son even if he's a convicted murderer, and a wife would continue to love her husband even if he's a criminal. The human heart is capable of loving despite overwhelming negatives which would dictate otherwise. That's the only way I can explain it.
