Close, but no cigar. That's "The Tra La La Song" (or something like that).

"Doing the Banana Split" is/was more of a soul-inspired thing.

Since that was 30-35 years ago (for me), my memory isn't that good on the actual lyrics. Oh well. I was listening to more Harry Belafonte at the time.
