Seems like you wrote this whole article to explain some post made by another individual.......

A wholly negative piece that sounds slightly paranoid (more than slightly?)

When someone reads something written or supposedly stated by a famous person, they check the source to see if it's a genuine quote - (well SOME people do, the rest of you forward that email expecting Bill Gates & Microsoft to send you money.....)

Let ME answer your first few questions:

1. How much information about Artists is too much?

If you LOVE the artist, nothing is too much. If you don't know/like them, then ANYTHING is too much

2. Should Artists reveal a lot of information about their personal lives?

Up to them. Of course things like social security numbers, addresses, phone-numbers are only given out by idiots.

3. What sort of details are none of anyone's business?

Use your common sense! I'd list them out but this is a family board.....

4. Should Artists explain what their songs are about?

If they want.

5. Are the Artist's views about politics, religion, social issues

and life in general something the fans should or need to know about?

Some fans do and some dont.
