The "Splintering" of the mp3.com community...

I've said, in the past, that I miss the old days at mp3.com, where everyone was all in one place, but lately, I have wondered if that really was a good thing.

What I mean, is you had nice guys, relentless flamers, snobs, and nutjobs all under 1 roof.

And they all pissed off each other. The nice guys whined about the flamers and the flamers flamed the nice guys, in return, etc.

Maybe it IS better that the community is split into all these sections.

You don't have as much activity, but certain people are away from certain others.

Nah, I still miss everyone being in the same place.

Because although we all pissed each other off, we also got to know some cool people, as a result.

I used to whine about the flamers. I guess I had some farfetched notion that the MP3 board could attract fans.

I miss the MP3 boards. Lots of cool folks hung out there. But, things move on, eh?

Yeah, I remember you. I think we had words quite a few times, back then...

To me, mp3 was entertainment, plain & simple.

There were too many nutjobs hanging out there for it to ever be a serious place...

well i'm agraid to say that i've seen some of the disturbing elements creating disturbing situations in some other places, so the problem in mp3.com was not the community, it was just that it was the highest traffic board of its kind and the more, the more likely you'll find a flamer.
