I am gearing up for some live shows....



I am using an alesis midi verb 4 and an alesis 3630 compressor on my vocal....



do you have any sugested settings for the compressor?... Iam used to using the pc one that uses presets... so iam scratching my head a bit!!??



I have had a bit play around but I dont seem to be getting much compression?..... help please :D

Paul, it's of course hard to tell the right setting for your style but here are some generic recommendations:



Your device comes with the following main control parameters...



Ratio, Threshold, Attack and Decay



...where you should try



Ratio = 1:6

Attack = 50ms

Decay= 90ms

Threshold = (depending on your input signal... just turn it and listen when the compression rushes in. With this setting you control from which input level on the compressor starts compressing with the values described above).



Furthermore you should find a setting where you can select between "Peak" and "RMS" mode. Try "Peak" Mode for vocals.



Finally you should find a setting where you can select between "Soft"- and "Hard"- "Knee". For live use "HARD-KNEE".
