Back after two gigs this weekend...

MIKE BURN

...and it was a hard weekend, nonetheless a very exciting one for our mikeburn and friends band feat. Kate Cassidy!

On saturday, for the first time in this formation, we played in a "important" club, the Wiener Hof over here in Germany in the city of Offenbach. A place where you are compared to the 'major' bands who played before.

Well, the first set was hard, but then the people got used to our style and the girls danced on the table! HAHA

))

The club owner was satisfied with the overturn from food/drinking and we even got more than expected

) Now we hope that the club-owner's mouthpropaganda will open some doors for us to play in similiar clubs where you are normally rejected unheared with the argument "no major label, no booking agency".

Well, there's nothing better than playing live and 2005 seems to be a good year for us! We have now confirmed the Nozstock Festival in England (23th. of July) and a few gigs near Birmingham/London as well as one in Wales, plus this weekend we got the confirmed booking for a huge open-air in Alicante/Spain the 17th. of September

)

Yes it was a GOOD weekend!!!!!

....you don't know the club we played saturday, even if the pictures look similiar to the IC-Meeting location. As a matter of fact the stage is bigger and the club even more!

If I'm lucky, I will be able to provide a formerly unknown live-song version in a few hours as a preview MP3 (recorded saturday).

We had extreme fun saturday to fight against the odds ("no major band syndrome" but with original songs nobody knows) while friday was more a 'warm-up' in a more unknown club. Nonetheless we had in both clubs more audience than ever expected and proof, that we can rock a "major" house with our very own song material playing ZERO cover songs!!

It was a long weekend for us as I lost our passports on the Tuesday night just before we were due to take off. :seismo

So had to rebook the flights for Wednesday so it meant only one rehearsal on the Thursday, before the gigs. (sorry for that :merci

The gig was fantastic, it was a lot of work for all but worth every minute and the audience were quiet for the first half till they got used to the music. :bmutant

That all changed in the second half, they were dancing on the tables and even one person who was a little bit drunk sent a taxi to get Kate a glass of Scotch whiskey Which he nearly spilt as he passed the glass to Kate. (which was a lovely surprise) :aw

The music was fantastic, i have never heard the band play so well, and the engineer. Kia, well wait till you hear what he did it will amaze you :dang

Just listened to both tracks. Awesome live mix. Lovely to hear Kate singing some high notes, so cool!! Listen to all that CLAPPING!! I really liked the first track I listened to, the second track (Suicide solution) although it sounds like you're introducing it as Superfreak? HAHAHA Chris!

"Superfreak" or "Suicide Solution".. it doesn't matter, it's simply a jam theme we always play when we are in a good mood with some sort of background story which is almost 10 years old about a woman who blew herself up in a church at christmas (not for political reasons... just insanity). It happened just a few hundred meters away from our practice room back then and that's why we go on keeping this story alive and always jam different around it

The venue last saturday was amazing (Wiener Hof). It's a club where mostly major bands are playing and they did promotion for us on every corner in Frankfurt and Offenbach (see pic below). That's why the club was packed and we caught the refreshing athmosphere on tape!

Well, the club owner was surprised and satisfied! HAHAHA
