today i got my paperwork back from the state corporation commission. in my state one has to file with the state scc and the state tax office and a few other places before you can be a business. i've been doing that and today it's official
One Sun Stained Glass Ltd. Co. is officially and legally born!
now i have to do a bunch of stuff like order business cards and make a website etc. i have a few jobs i'm working on now and it feels good to know that they will be the first things done under my official business name. pretty exciting to me.
anyway, it was a big step and i'm happy and relieved that it happened without a hitch. it's official, i'm a businessman. hahahaha. (too bad i still need that dreaded dayjob!)
i'd hand out cigars to celebrate the birth but it's snowing like mad outside and i don't feel like going to the store to get any. so.... smoke 'em if you've got 'em!

i have this crazy notion that spending 9 hours a day working for someone i don't much like and doing something i don't like at all is probably not how i want to live the rest of my life, so i'm making small steps to change that. i love making glass and hopefully one day that'll be my one and only job. this was the first step. i do think it's what was meant for me to do.
i even plan on drafting my daughter to be my assistant. she's made some lovely things too already and she's just 10.

| i sold a lot of stuff last year, but that was as a renegade sg guy. haha. this year it's all legit. papers filed and all. but yep, you're the first international client as well. haha.

| haha. well i've made it 41 years without owning or wearing a suit, other than the one i rented when i got married, i think i'll probably be able to make it through a few more at least without one. i sure hope so!
