Phoenix, Arizona and Texas have both seen snow this year, too. I think in Texas it was 4-6 inches (approx.10 to .15 meters). Of course, down there it melts the next day, hahaha!
I think this old earth is in constant change, but we don't notice it because most of the change isn't so obvious. But you get odd things like this snowfall, the 4-5 big hurricanes hittiing Florida last year, the big quakes, tsunamis and there's always a volcano ready to blow somewhere. It all serves as a reminder that the planet is alive and kickin!
There's a caldera (a "super-volcanic" depression) in the US Yellowstone National Park that, if she decided to go BOOM, would cause a major disaster.
