Germany is one of the biggest music markets for the major record labels in the world.



210,000 copies of Eminem's "Encore" album were distributed to record shops overall, but only 38,410 were sold.



This relatively small number was even enough to gain "Platin" status meanwhile.





As a matter of fact it is meanwhile sufficient to sell roughly 200 albums to enter the German Top 100 major charts...........

It's called "How to make someone who stinks look like they don't when they really do!" It's a sick joke that it's how many that ship vs. sell that record status is qeued from. Gives the record companies the ability to decide (as opposed to the public) which albums go gold, platimun, etc. Manipulation, facade, misrepresentation for the purposes of pushing a product. This kind of thing makes me angry. I can't wait until these record companies go belly up.
