fascinating...... i saw a guy the other day with his face tattoo'd. fascinating to look at. what always annoys me though is when someone has tattoos and is wearing a shirt that shows them off BUT seems annoyed when you look at them. i always figure they want you to look but maybe they don't? it's a hard call, so i just look and ask about them if i feel like it and deal with their response when it comes.

Great questions Bud!! I was going through a "i'm a hetrosexual' stage in my life so got a male & female symbol connected on my wrist, it's a bit faded now and looks like a 'homosexual' symbol with 2 males connected :wgrin And actually I'm pro all that, so that's cool!!

The one you can see on my right chest is actually a letter "A" - I had a crazy idea once that I would get all letters of the alphabet tattooed on me.........

I got tattoos to decorate my body. They are first off for me. That's why all my tattoos are on the front of my body. I wont get one on my back cause I can't see it!!! hahahahahahahhahahaha :banana However I do agree with you Bud, one gets tattoos and one gets to show them off so I think it's mad that some people resent others looking at their tattoos!

Talking about extensive coverage, above is a a pic of my girlfriend Julia. She has about 95% coverage, but is now in the process of getting them removed from her face, because she is really tired of being looked at, and having no choice in the matter. This way, if she chooses to go to the grocery store or something, she need only wear jeans and a longsleeve shirt or sweater. On the other hand, whenever she wants to show off the tats, she can dress appropriately for that too.

She started the tattooing after in 1992 she and I visited in Las Vegas the Guinness museum, seeing the a statue of a girl whose body was fully covered. She said "I am going to do that" and I didn't really think she meant it but she started shortly after we returned. She happened to meet up with tattoo artists and skateboard champs, the Godoy twins, Art and Steve, who also are founding members of legendary Orange County punk band the Exploding Fuck Dolls (just now returning from a succesful U.S. tour) as well as world class tattoo artists.

The whole process took about 7 years, and the process of removal from the face is about half completed and will take another 18 months.

Oh My Dave!! Wow! Your girlfriend has way more tattoos than me.... Did she achieve her goal before she started removing the tattooes from her face? How does one remove tattoos from ones face? Doesn't that leave scarring?? Sorry she regrets tattooing her face. I wouldn't tattoo my face (can't think why!) And yes having them on arms and stuff means I CAN hide my tattoos in business etc. surroundings. I want some more actually on my chest and on the tops of my thighs.... Dave what do YOU think of tattoos?

I don't get the tattoo thing myself, I always thought that was something for sailors and marines, though the very small one's aren't to bad..

Maybe if they had a tatoo type that would dissappear naturally after a person passed through the phase that made them want to get them in the first place.., think there could be a big market fot that..

To each their own I guess..

Hmnn.., maybe a tattoo of my late Doberman would be cool..

hahaha Nice idea Gregg! I don't know what attracted me to tattoos, apart from only bad girls get them :wgrin Plus I love the floral one on my right shoulder - very colourful & very feminine, they are a part of me and I would feel strange without them...... Nowadays I think tats are quite ordinary and only the ones with amazing artwork draws my attention - the tribal armbands look naff to me - hahahahahahhahaha :wgrin This is all my humble opinion of course.

Chris, yes she was finished, and then decided to get them off the face. No scarring, its low-power, tuned lasers in conjunction with several dermabrasions.

I like tattoos that are inspired in the concept and the execution, like hers and yours. There's a lot of off-the-shelf (flash) stuff out there though, unfortunately.

So she's still tattooed all over! Cool! Yeah, off the shelf is so silly. I want to have works of art all over my body for the rest of my life to admire and enjoy. :banana
