OK I've chosen Priscilla Hernández as this week's random act of kindness.

I know Priscilla has had some big challenges in her life recently and as we are all people who totally wants everyone to achieve everything possible with our creativity - I thought it would be a really nice thing to go to Priscilla's ic-musicmedia page and listen to a track or two and give her a review or rating or send her an email commenting on her music.

Now PLEASE DO NOT show her this thread - she doesn't need to know. She probably wont see it anyway as her online time is limited these days.

Any suggestions for next week's random act of kindness?

No ideas yet, chris. But I wanted to say that this is more like it! This is the kind of thing that really helps people and can make a difference...rather than just talk about it, do it! Every little bit helps. Great idea! This thread rates 5 out of 5.

Drooly - they can be very small acts of kindness - and lets stick to humans for now - pets are a much bigger commitment and not everyone can do this (Priscilla for example!)

For example Mike, Dreamtone7 and Ron committed small acts of kindness on my weakness thread.

It's easier to do small acts of kindness in the offline world - e.g. buying the person behind you a coffee, buying & giving a pizza to a beggar, phone a friend and listened to what she/he said (even if we're not particularly interested!), having a coffee with someone you know just got fired (not a friend) and giving them a pep talk/advice on how to move on, saying thank you to the busdriver, in fact saying thank you to someone you wouldn't normally, giving directions to lost people, I could go on. Any suggestions for online random acts of kindness?

If you need to fart in a crowded elevator, at least make it an audible one, and accept the full blame. Do NOT fart silently, then look around, wrinkling your nose, pretending you're thinking "Who was the rude bastard that did that..?..."

That would be irresponsible of you....

speaking up against injustices - if you see something thats wrong.

Buying beers at rehearsals (Alan's good at this), talking to people at bus stops, pressing the elevator buttons for folks who's hands are full...

And yes, Drooly, farting, burping, sneezing etc in the elevator are NOT cool, as is stretching with your arms above your head in a crowded lift if you've spent all day doing hard labour.... :wgrin

seeing an old person trying to cross the road when cars are wizzing by..... just stop, make sure nothing is coming the other way and let them get accross.... Then lecture them on how you pay £1000's in tax for zebra crossings and pelican crossings and tell them to dam well use them!!! :lol

Wow! You people have suggested loads of ways to commit random acts of kindness!! How inspiring! Thank you!

I told a shy quiet little girl this morning that I liked her dress and she beamed away and we chatted about dyeing hair for the next 10 mins! Didn't have to - I guess that's the qualifier for me!

Picking up something that someone's dropped when you can see that their hands are full or how they would really have to bend down - that's something else I kept doing this evening!! Wooooooooohoooooooo
