What's this? Nary a mention in the list of a Chuck Berry tune - if nothing else, at least for the opening riff of "Johnny B. Goode"? :insane Shame, Shame!!

I didn't expect to see my take on it - the ersatz, klutzy "Ronny's No Goode" (with profound apolgies to Chuck, hahahaha!!!) - make the list. But I'm talkin' Mr. Chuck Berry here!!

My two favourites are missing:

George Harrison's middle-section riff on Cream's 'Badge'

Robert Fripp's riff on King Crimson's '21st Century Schizoid Man'.

As for that 'Guns and Roses' crap being better than Cream's 'Sunshine of Your Love' .. oh dear me .....

and Metallica???

For an opening riff they couldn't even touch "Hot Smoke And Sassafras" by Bubble Puppy. Link to Amazon page for a "Hot Smoke & Sassafras" clip for the young and/or uninitiated. Scroll down to "listen to samples":

21st Century Schizoid Man rules. That whole album is excellent.
