How did you mic the (lead) acoustic there....? Good sound. Very airy. Nice new strings.

Oh well, I grew up with the electric guitar but at times

I also fiddle on my acoustic. For this song it was the right

instrument anyway.



I miked the acoustic (lead) with a Audio-Technica AT-4050.







50cm away from the guitar pointing between the last fret

and the soundhole. The strings were not brand new, but

still offering brilliance



I don't know how Mark recorded the 12-string strumming though

Mike, this IS the first time I have heard you play acoustic and you've done a fantastic job! It's also interesting to hear about your recording techniques.



For the 12 string, I just used the $5 computer mic about 12 inches from the guitar.

Perfect. That's the way I record acoustic too, but I also have a Crown PZM mic on the window of the sound booth - about 1 meter away, to capture some ambience, some air.





Then when I mix, I pan the 2 tracks slightly, and it makes it sound as if the guitar player is right in the room with you..

I just listened to this - it's very contemplative. Daniel sounds fantastic. The whole song is so moving. I love listening to acoustic music too especially acoustic guitars. Lovely. Well done you three great musicians!
