a cool picture of a new glass piece

i made this piece for someone and purposely chose the glass i did for various reasons. i was struggling to get a good picture of it so all of the colors would show up, (never did get one though- the stripes go red, yellow, white, blue and green), and in the process of that, noticed the ultra cool shadow of it. THEN i noticed something else really cool about the glass and it's shadow. do you see it?

isn't it odd and cool the way the glass did that? it's because of the properties of the glass and i understand it completely, but i admit it was a surprise.... it gave the thing a whole new meaning too. even more of a balance and movement and meaning etc. the lady i made it for was more than thrilled.

this particular one didn't take too long, i think i did it in 4 days off and on. with me, when i do a project, i usually am doing several other projects at the same time, plus there's the kids and my aging parents to deal with, and three dogs etc etc. i could probably have knocked it out in two days i think.

in fact, the lady was so thrilled she asked me to make her two other things so she can have one in each of her martial arts studios. i was pretty darned happy to hear that i'll tell you!

hahaa I bet you were happy to hear that!! Good for you! And it sounds like you have a lot going on in your life - I'm AMAZED you can get the pieces done at all!!!

tomorrow i'll post a picture of something i finished last week. it was a big project with a lot of little pieces. that took some time but i like doing it so i sort of stretched it out and took my time on it. i'd do stained glass every minute if i didn't have to have the dreaded day job.

hey thanks debbie! it's nice to do work and have people like it. makes it all worthwhile.

things are really picking up for me in the glass workroom, i've got a list of things to make for people now. sort of feels good!
