Does anyone here have a PayPal button on their site for accepting donations for your song downloads?

I don't have a musician site, Mark, but I do on occasion put them together for other folks.

I think if it's an option to make a contribution for sample songs by a new/unknown artist via Paypal - not an obligation - it is a very good idea.

An exception to the "contribution mode" would be if the artist has low quality (i.e. not good enuf for grabbing&burning)audio-streams of the songs so a listener can get a full-length sample. Then a charge e.g. 99¢ per song, would be okay - just my thoughts.

(You also have to figure in what cut Paypal might take off the top in the transfer.)

Ideally, I'd combine some free and/or "make a contribution" songs along with the option to outright buy more music, if the person is so inclined.

Just my 2¢ anyway....

Sounds like a great idea to me. I think it might be cool to have all your songs on a web page with a 'contribution' PayPal button for downloads beside each song. Anything from 50 cents to whatever people can afford. That way, if Donald Trump likes one of your songs he just might contribute $1000.00 bucks to download it! :wgrin

I think you might be right Mark - it's a nice idea. I will seriously consider it - but you know what - we host our songs on sites like ic-musicmedia.com where we cannot add buttons to the page... AHA! They do deep-linking don't they? :banana
