DATZ COLD SIGNS DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH M2K
Northwest “gothic hip-hop” goes national with new DVD
Seattle, WA, USA – With a freshly inked pressing and distribution deal, Datz Cold is poised to bring national recognition to the darkest corner of Seattle’s underground hip-hop scene. This April local multimedia giant M2K (Multimedia 2000) will release Datz Cold’s debut DVD; “Back From the Dead”, putting his dank, dark brand of hip-hop on retail shelves across North America, including Sam Goody, Best Buy, Borders, etc. The DVD will also include the re-release of Datz Cold’s critically acclaimed CD “a green hell” as a bonus disc.
The DVD will feature interviews, live footage, and videos, as well as a glimpse of what’s to come from his label, zerobpm recordings, with appearances by up and comers MC Confuz, Kismet, and DJ HNS.
Datz Cold’s debut CD “a green hell” (2003/zerobpm recordings) hit the hip-hop Top 10 on Chart Attack (Canada’s equivalent of CMJ), and charted on college radio stations across America, including a 4 month run in the hip-hop Top 10 on Seattle’s own KEXP, leading to the attention of M2K.
The official DVD release party is being thrown at the Capitol Hill Arts Center (Lower Level), Friday April 9th, with performances by Datz Cold, NAHA, MC Confuz, Module, and DJ Ted Dancin’.
