I just read, that for boards with VIA chipset a so called "VIA 4-in-1-Driver" is mandatory for the sound-card to work properly.





You should find this driver at:

the processor is a k7 triton..... amd 761/ via 686b....

I know you dont use cubase etc..... but you may be able to help.........



I have just bought a brand new pc. 80GB, 2.2Ghz Proc.,Win XP.... blah blah blah........



I put cubase on it.... no prob. I put my sound card in it (Delta 66, midiman) and downloaded the latest driver from midiman.com.



loaded the driver software and it says the software is not digitally signed and may cause problems in the future.......



well bang bang, it was not long as when I turn the pc on it just starts loading xp and then restarts. again and again..... I have took the sound card out and the pc works fine...... is it a fault on the sound card ??.....I hope not :(



any ideas Mike........?

Hhhhmmmmm.... well... Microsoft speaks of a "digital certificate" when downloading drivers, which are tested and approved for Microsoft OS....



You definitely can run into problems when installing a "unsigned" driver or even the wrong driver version for your particular OS.



Maybe try this driver here.... I found on a German page.

(de510030.exe ....well the german version of course :( )



Driver date is from June and it says "for XP" explicitely.
