Sounds like the return of AOR. (:D ) Kids are, after all, buying what they hear on the radio. If all the radio plays is one or two songs off an album, those are the songs most kids are going to download. If a kid likes 4 or 5 songs off the album, they'll probably buy it. The industry likes to blame downloading....but by controlling airplay through playlists the way they do, they can share some of the blame as far as I'm concerned. Even if they respond quickly, it'll be tough to stop the momentum. They'll have to offer something that you can't get off the web.....I don't know what.
