STILL BADD TO THA BONE....

Quote:
Tickets for The Eagles at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall, capacity 13,800, top out at $200, and Fleetwood Mac is charging $150 for their concert there. The best tickets for Elton John's show at The Arie Crown Theater in Chicago, capacity 4,249, go for $250. And Kiss is offering a "platinum package" this summer that includes one ticket in the first five rows, some concert trinkets and a backstage photo with the band - for a staggering $1,000. And they are selling out.

Meanwhile, Norah Jones was scheduled to play the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, which has 7,000 seats plus an open-admission lawn, instead of the 20,000-seat Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford.

The top ticket for Jones' show was $47.50.

I'd be curious to see KISS. I've seen Elton John already. Wouldn't want to see the Eagles. Not sure about Fleetwood Mac - it depends who's in the band hahahahaha

"Wouldn't want to see the Eagles." - bb chris

BLASPHEMY!!!

Watching Joe Walsh play guitar is ALONE worth the price of admission!

I guess it's age-related...all you younguns, etc, etc. But Fleetwood Mac was "it" back around the same time as the Eagles, so I don't get it.....? Guess I'm just dumb like that. :b

Never heard of "Hotel California"? Surprising. Have you heard of Don Henley? He was the drummer and singer for most of the Eagles hits. It's interesting to see what the world (ie, Hong Kong is part of it) sees. Two groups can be just as big as each other, but overseas they've only heard of one of them. Sometimes I think I'd really like to know how some groups get airplay while others don't, and why.......then I think again and find that I'm probably better off not knowing. :rolleyes

Nitey-nite. :muede

Seismic!! hahahahahahahahahahahhaa What a superb offer! Thanks! :merci

Dreamtone! Oh my God - yes I've heard that song - that horrible song that every crappy band in some dingy bar plays when you really don't want to hear it.... It's like Stairway to Heaven - you HAVE to learn these songs if you want to be in a band - where's the vomit emoticon...

Oh my, I've heard of Don Hendley.

They play US Top 40 here mostly - you'll be delighted to know - I just get bored by hearing the same songs on the radio...

And Before anyone else asks I've NEVER heard of the ALLMAN Brothers. :dunno

YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLDER WHEN:

1. You and your teeth don't sleep together

2. You try to straighten out the wrinkles in your socks and

discover you aren't wearing any.

3. At the breakfast table you hear snap, crackle, pop and

you're not eating cereal.

4. Your back goes out, but you stay home.

5. When you wake up looking like your driver's license picture.

6. It takes two tries to get up from the couch.

7. When your idea of a night out is sitting on the porch.

8. When happy hour is a nap.

9. When you're on vacation and your energy runs out before your money does.

10. When you say something to your kids that your mother said to you, and you always hated it.

11. When all you want for your birthday is to not be reminded

of your age.

12. When you step off a curb and look down one more time to

make sure the street is still there.

13. Your idea of weight lifting is standing up.

14. It takes longer to rest than it did to get tired.

15. Your memory is shorter and your complaining lasts longer.

Good ones! Number 10 rings a bell. :ohno

Don Henley had a lot of good solo material, too. He did "Boys of Summer" and before that, what I think was his best tune ever: "Dirty Laundry". He really slams the media in that one, and it has a great guitar solo in it by Steve Lukather (from "Toto"). I can't resist, so I'll post the lyrics.......by the way, the Allman brothers did "Lord I was Born a Ramblin' Man". Greg Allman (singer) was also married to Cher for awhile. You've heard of her, haven't you? ;)

Dirty Laundry:

I make my living off the evening news

Just give me something, something I can use

People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry

Well, I could've been an actor, but I wound up here

I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear

Come and whisper in my ear, give us dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em all around

We got the bubbleheaded bleach-blonde, comes on at 5

She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye

It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet?

You know the boys in the newsroom got a running bet

Get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on

You don't really want to know just how far it's gone

Just leave well enough alone, keep your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they @#%$ , kick 'em all around

Dirty little secrets, dirty little lies

We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie

Love to cut you down to size, we love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo, we can dance and sing

When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing

We all know that crap is king, give us dirty laundry

IMHO, well said. :laugh

Has anyone heard "Don Henley Must Die", by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper? Heeheehee. They were playing it live in a club one time, and Don Henley jumped on stage and sang it with them!
