I passed a video/music store the other day, and in the window there was a large statue of Golum - with a face mask!

Hilarious.

I've stopped wearing mine. We're down to single digit cases per day now, so I guess I'm getting smart ass and complacent. However, I am careful about not touching surfaces and washing hands immediately after returning from a public place, not touching my face or biting my nails, etc.

Chris, did you EVER wear a mask?

I hope this thing blows over ASAP. Once it does, you are all invited to Hong Kong. Please???

:gl

Washing your hands, and not touching your face are critical precautions.

Apart from air-borne particles, that's the primary way communicable diseases are spread.

I hope it ends soon, too.

Damn, I would love to visit Hong Kong........

The cat-mask pic was from a non-SARS story awhile back, DM. I believe the masked-kitty was okay - it was just a pic from an odd vet visit.

When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to become a Vet.....

I'm glad it didn't happen that way....

I don't think I could pay the emotional price....

Golum with a face mask?? Reminds me of the stupid Madonna promotion:

I wore a mask for a couple of days when I was on the MTR, then I read the instructions carefully:

1. Wear masks if you have a respiratory illness

Plus you're supposed to replace the masks constantly to prevent the spread of one's respiratory germs.

And HK being the way it is, we had thousands of people visit my Island over the Easter holidays and they left masks strewn all over the place - DISGUSTING! They look like sanitary pads lying about. :tongue

HK people may be more hygenic but they're still litter bugs!! :cute

The URL for your Madonna mask pic isn't working, Chris!

Hahahaaa! Is it supposed to mean something or just being artsy?

I saw her (Madonna) in a TV interview last week - coincides with her new release, of course - and she was demonstrating how she's coming along on guitar. She's played a good part of "Stairway To Heaven" and did pretty well. When I saw her HBO live concert (Detroit?) last year, she played guitar, but not impressively - mostly 3 chords on "Don't Tell Me" (E-A-D or G-F-C) if memory serves.

She played "Stairway to Heaven" oh my God - didn't anyone tell her how geeky that is - hahahahahahahahhahahaa hahahahahaha Yeah I saw that concert. I thought her guitar playing was funny, bless her though - loads more girls will pick up the guitar to play now.

Oh if you're a French speaker, this is funny:

It's funny even if you don't speak French! Mine is very bad, that's why the French films I have (mostly new wave - Goddard, Truffaut, etc.) are subtitled.

But I believe the shirt declares "I've returned from Hong Kong" or the like.

(and all I got was SARS and this crummy T-Shirt?)

Speaking of girls playing guitar... - My friend wants me to start giving her 12 year old daughter guitar lessons.....

Should be interesting.

I don't think I'll start with too much theory... - I'll probably start by training her ear, and sensitivity.......

And I need to make sure it's FUN for her......

And if she enjoys learning Music, well, that will be a lot of fun for me..
