Opportunity: Do you have a personal story about hope?

As part of Alternative Static's first major advertising and public awareness campaign, we are compiling a special companion book that will be packaged along with our next benefit CD, Hope. This book will contain poetry, anecdotes and short stories of an inspirational nature, with hope as a central theme.



I'm looking for people with interesting and inspirational stories to tell, for possible inclusion in this book. As this is a fundraiser for The Alternative Static Foundation's teen suicide prevention work, there will be no pay for submissions. Your name and location will be included unless you choose to remain anonymous.

Hhhhhmmmmm.... I can't offer a story of hope related to teen suicide... but a story about a good friend addicted to hard drugs, being able to turn back to normal life through music.

For the purposes of this book, the stories can be about anything, so long as the message is one of hope and inspiration. They don't even have to be related to music, though those sorts of stories are more than welcome. If you have ever heard of "Chicken Soup for the Soul", this will be something similar.



For example, one of the stories already selected is about a group that recruits volunteers and builds housing for the homeless in Mexico.
