I had this thing done in less than a week from the day I entered...written,Recorded mixed and mastered on the fly in one 4 hour studio slot.. ...



I'm gonna go record a NEW version tomarrow....

and this time I aint gonna play nice..

To me, the quintessential Mark Knopler is his guitar work in "Lady Writer".. - with Dire Straits.....

Yep, There was a half hour programme about him on ITV which was recorded at TYNE TEES TELEVISION. Cutting a very long story short, I was invited to set his and Alan Clark's gear up for the show (my mate has known Alan for years, before he joined Dire Straits) so thats how I got invited!!:lol



It was something I won't forget and had a great night/early morning...:lol .. yeah the green room got some stick from me:larree ....



The best bit was when we left the studio's and there was a fleet of cars waiting for us outside, gap parted in the fans by minders and off we went to an indian restaurant wich had been hired for the night just for Mark Knopfler and co!!:yeah



I was on Marks table and shared wine, nan bread and chit chat :lol ........ He is a very nice man, has no ego what so ever!!........ he even hired the restaurant for after a certain time, so the regular customers could still go before we arived! infact as I remember there were still people in and he had no problem with them staying....... TOP BLOKE :)

No cameras tho :( ....... Just happy memories:)
