Hong Kong is the best way to see Asia Steve, cuz it's English speaking.



Yes, that was before the handover Chris. I don't believe I saw your island, although I got over to Kowloon a couple of times, took the train up to the top a couple of times, once at night, which was unbelievably gorgeous, and then drove around the island.



In Aberdeen I think, we got a lady to take us around on a boat, in the harbor where people live their whole lives on houseboats. Very cool. Magnificent city. You see huge freighters in the harbor alongside little Chinese junks.



And the streets at night in the shopping area are quite a sight too.

Jim! Sounds like you did quite a bit whilst you were here. Yes the Peak tram and the Peak are pretty cool, believe it or not, I've not gone up it at night (yet!) So you didn't make it to my island. Next time! In fact, do you plan any more trips to HK? I personally don't think it's much different to pre-handover....

Jim! Thats the International Finance Centre Tower 2 - will be ready next year I think - it will be the tallest building in Hong Kong till 2008......... I think it's going to be about 100 storeys....!

What Kind of camera are you using Chris ?



A digital camera, 35mm, medium Format ?



I use a Nikon F3. Absolutely love the thing. No auto-focus but a huge line of accessories, Viewing screens, lenses, view finders etc....



I like everything completely manual on my camera's.



More control, though it take's a bit more time.

Steve All these photos were taken on my digital camera which I got last October and I LOVE - I've only taken film photos rarely since then (!) It's a Canon PowerShot S30 (has a zoom) and I love it!!!!!! It does video too - in fact, if you have Broadband, why don't you downlload this, let me know if it works for you - it's 2.9Mb - view of HK from my uncle's balcony:

My normal camera is a Canon EOS 1000F which I still love - any photos from pre-October that I scan in are taken on that. I got that camera around 10 years ago. It's just a hassle scanning in, formatting the tiff file into jpg etc. Oh God - I sound so lazy........
