They were the famous horsemen of the Russian plains, although obviously not quite famous enough for you, master68.

Hmmm...interesting...based on definition and the romanticism involved, a cossack sounds much like a cowboy...and joe seems to be very proud of the title "cossack". Perhaps we are beginning to reach an understanding here. Let's see what the members of this board make of the opportunity. (This should be good.)

We had to learn 2 bible verses a week and were tested. We took Bible every day like math. Upon recalculating things it was like 450 plus all the rest. I could tell you virtually every character in the Bible and what was their story etc... however one Psalm had 39 verses...

Of course we were taught evolution... How could we debunk the evolution myths with the public school kids if we did not know it. Yea a fundamentalistic view of Christianity was taught in every subject if possible. That was science...

Remember the invinsable Spanish armada who tried to beat the brits in the 17-1800s (I think?). Well for some rewason the Spanish were doing wrong so God sent a bad storm and the Spanish armada was mostly sunk... Yup God was protecting the holy Brits as God did the Isrealites when they behaved from enemy invaders. However if they were bad God allowed the Isreal to be beaten and even enslaved...

Well... Chria=stianity is a very Pagan or atleast Paganized religion. It will take a bit to explain, however like St. Paul in the book of Acts could not shut up while talking to King Agripa...

Mostly Catholocism stole/borrowed many things from Paganism so to make it more palitable to Pagans so they would convert...

Such things as burning candles, incense, bell ringing and even placing church doors faciing east when possible.

Well Paganism is an earth based religion where one tries to get intune with nature and it's natural forces like fung shui (sp?). I guess the easiest modern Paganism to explain is what the American Indians believed before the Christian white man got a hold of them...

Oh there were about 200 in grades 9-12 when I was there. We had "chapel" twice a week in the gymnasium where we had to listen to a local preacher or visiting one would speak for 30 minutes... Yea twice a week....

anyhoo... to get in the Spanish Club you had to memorize a Bible verse in English and them repeat it in Spanish in fron of 200 students...

Fung Shui is the Cantonese spelling, I think the Mandarin is Feng Shui?

The books I have seen in USA spell it Feng.
