The term "Zionist" could be considered anti-semitic if it is being used as a blanket term in a derogatory manner to describe all Jews.
btw, I was thinking of overall POV's when I posted my initial post on this thread...Not specific words.

In the interests of better communication...as mentioned in the post where I referred to that phrase, of course.

Bottom line... There is so much hatred against Israel and America being spewed with regularity on this board that I have no problem with anyone calling the haters full on anti-semites... in my opinion.

Very good, Larree. You're learning.
We are not using it to describe all Jews. Most of my liberal Jewish friends disagree with Zionists and think that the illegal settlements incite hatred and terrorism.
But the old 'anti-semite' trick doesn't work anymore, Larree. You have not been sacred cows since 1967, when people began to realize what was going on.
Anyway, now you're back here the agenda will be permanently skewed in the direction you prefer. We will never get a diversity of views at this rate.

You're succeeding, as usual.

I find that to be a telling Freudian slip, Larree. As in "didn't Hitler teach you a lesson in the 1930's & 40s??". Interesting.

In fact, I prefer those with either overt or repressed anti-Semitism (or whatever prejudice for that matter) be direct and denouce "Jewish influence" quite clearly. The big problem wasn't that people read "Mein Kampf", but that not enough good & decent people read it early enough to decipher the buzz phrases in order to stop the ideas from being implemented.

...because Ron here claimed it might be used as a guise for an Anti-Semitic denomination, even though the word is widely accepted as it is, the short form for neo-conservative (A POLITICAL STANCE WHOS DENOMINATION HAVE NOUGHT WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH ANTI-SEMITIC SENTIMENT).
It would be better if the one who started the discussion in a certain area (neocon) also followed through, now however you and Ron, TD, look like you are working in terms, confusing the topic and subtopic as much as you possibly can.

Well, good & decent people just didn't read it early enough, noone read it early enough.
The book was written while Hitler was inprisoned in Landsberg for trying a coup d'état (they should have kept him there, tried him for high treason and trown away the key) and sold close to nothing until the NS came to power.
Then it was used as a give-away from the regime and the book had been printed in 9,8 million copies in 1943.

Sorry if it appears that way, but it's honestly not the case.

Ron, you're smarmy and polite to the ladies and the younger generation, but really you're vicious, manipulative and rotten to the core, aren't you?
We've already had the 'neo-con' and 'Zionist' argument, but you bring it up again to defame your opponents, to smear them by suggesting that they are anti-semitic. You constantly lose arguments because you lack the brains and knowledge to stay the pace here, so you resort to suggesting that your opponents are closet N-a-z-i-s, exactly the same tactic used against Mike Burn on MP3.COM in 2002 and 2003 in the most scurrilous and obnoxious attacks on an individual's character I've ever seen.
You put words in my mouth, you set up a straw man, and you use every crude manipulation that your extremely limited intellect can muster. Now, playing childishly crude word-association games, you place the terms 'anti-semitism', 'Jewish' and 'Mein Kampf' in a thread about me and others - who have actually used the perfectly acceptable terms 'Zionists' and 'neo-conservatives' and criticized their political policies - to associate us with N-a-z-i-s-m in the minds of the thread readers. You try to suggest in a sly manner that I - a social democrat, union member and 30-year member of the Tyneside Anti-Fascist Association - am a jew- hating N-a-z-i.
I hope Chris is reading this, just to see what you are under all the smarmy politeness. A sneaky, lying scumbag. A complete c*nt of the first order.

Ahhh...if anti-Semitism were so easily identified with only those who marched around wearing swastikas, Steve. Though I grant it would certainly make things easier for not only Jews, but the civilised world. Jews, like black people, have no such illusion about those who hate them, no matter how politely. They know excusing the psuedo-political rhetoric of the subtle, "polite bigotry" to be a common phenom among the haters.
Also, the civilized person wouldn't quite openly taunt a Jew to come to his/her own country in order to physically assualt and harm the Jew (even if anti-Semitism is quite popular there). However, in such a case if a Jew feared being the recipient of a sound thrashing, s/he could always invoke the now infamous Q Defence: "Well, I really-really-really wanted to come and settle it....grrrrr....but my department suddenly went broke!".
And since I don't advocate brawling as a way of life, I would count it a wise defence in most cases.

Well, Ron, you can't edit that out now, old son. So you are actually accusing me on a public forum of being a Jew-hater, an anti-semite? If you are not accusing me, who exactly are you accusing?
I don't hate Jews, Ron, I don't hate any collective or individual, even you, despite the fact that you are one of the most malicious scumbags I've ever come across. Not the most malicious, you understand - you don't excel at anything.
I hope Chris and the others now can see clearly what lies under all the contrived politeness.
