No I'm not German nationality, but ethicaly, this is.

Coming from Bohemia I heard all day long, "90% of Bohemia is Germans and the other half is Czechs."

So yea, theres a lot of mixing going back.

Der Schwarze is a friend - Tidwell. The "foreign" guy is me! And the other one famous.

That's what they call multicultural! Put that in your pants an smoke on it!

When I first looked at the 3 pics I thought "huh", I knew it was 3 different fellows. But they reminded me of those "here's a picture of me young, me older and in-between" type things!!

By the way, is "Schwarze" a polite or nice word auf deutsch?

In America, and I suppose in some other places, "black" doesn't have a bad meaning. But some things could have a nasty meaning in another place!

My ancestors all came from Sweden and in some parts of Scandinavia people have darker skin. My father inherited some of those genes. He was dark-skinned and in the summer his skin didn't get tanned, it just got darker. Some people would think that he was black.

Oh - and I knew who Christo was - hahaha , I have a bit of an art background. His work is on quite the grand scale!!

Myself - I like Dada, Art Deco and Pre-Raph art mostly.

I had a good friend when growing up, at 12 up to 16, name Tracy Strombom. He told of him being from populace called the Black Swedes. He has coal-black hair and more of a Mediteraen complexion but not so dark. His father works was in the Swedish consulate, while mine was in the diplomatic service, so this is how we meeted. Apparently this is a ethic group that had honored service to the Swedish kings and military.

We had a lots of German friends in youth, cause Vati was posted to Bonn extended times. Funny this, how I call him Vati which is how some German kids called their "dada", but my sister call him páter still today.

Aa yes dada. So you flirt with nihilism and the absurd! More power to that!

Sometimes I had to be a little more practical though.

Bauhaus is cool - kind of mod and art-deco. Are you an artist, Beau or an "art lover"?

Not too much in my philosophy, haha - but in art, yes. It would be fun to design a house that combines Dada, Art Deco and Pre-Raphaelite themes. I am a fan of architecture.

You are right, Beau - not all Swedes fit into the usual blonde "stereotype"! One of my brothers has followed our Swedish geneaology back to between the years 1200-1300 and there are mixes of Swedish ethnic groups in that.

"Vati", eh? from Vater?. We called our father "Dad", our mother was called "Ma".

It sounds like you had good experience in meeting and knowing people of different backgrounds - especially since your Vati was a diplomat. Cool.

By the way, there is another American slang: "Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!" That slang always make me think of:

It is the polite form. You say:

"Dieser Mann ist ein Schwarzer"

...or more polite...

"Dieser Mann ist von schwarzer Hautfarbe"

UNPOLITE: "Neger" or "Schwazzzze"
