Hello everyone,
Just wanted to drop a line about checking out www.MediaPal.com for music and media distribution.
Upload your music or media, price your music/media, copy and pate the distribution buttons on your website...and you have full distribution of music and media. Billable downloads, album downloads, ability for your consumers to make custom CDs and DVDs, and the sale of your stock/retail CDs/DVDs.
Everything is On-Demand. When someone orders a physical CD from you, the order comes to us...we burn it, print your inserts, shrink wrap your CD and ship to your customer. We are transparent too, so your customer always thinks you are providing the full service. Same for downloads.
There are alot of other features, but please check out.
Bryan

No, it's not just you, LOL. If anything an artist learns - usually the hard way - is to ask "what's the catch?" in such matters.
I wondered too, I used my "whois program" to check out the domain first. Domains that are very recent and are hosted on free sites are one warning sign, hahaha! But MediaPal has been online since 1998. They distribute material - books and such - and are getting into the music area. So it all seems quite legit and above board & it seems they are somwhat connected in the music industry.
But, like you, I'm curious if they have a fee structure and, if so, what it looks like.
A search yielded up quite a few postings like this one on the music forums, so I imagine whoever does their PR is just making the musicBB rounds.
Here's a PR release (written by MediaPal PR, of course) at PRweb concerning this: MediaPal Press Release

Hey Everyone Sorry about that. I didn't click to receive emails on topic notificaitons...and Ron pulled me back in the forum. Thanks Ron.
The fees are real simple. We go 50/50 with everyone for music. For downloads and On-Demand CDs/DVDs.

If any other questions please write back. I will be watching this post frequently now for sure.
Thanks again Ron!!

You're more than welcome, Bryan - thank you for dropping by. You'll find talented and highly marketable indie musicians hereabouts - new info on what's what in the biz is always appreciated!

Hey bbchris
The base prices are the lowest prices you charge per product/transaction.
For example, the base price for a download is .89 cents. We always still go 50/50 so it would be 45 cents each.
If you priced your download at 1.00 then it would be .50 cents each and etc...
Same model for all transactions.

The way you add the buttons is in any HTML editor.
After you upload your tracks...in the Control Panel there is a section in the menu that states "Download Buttons", "Custom Burn Buttons", etc..
Those are your distribution buttons for each of your tracks or CDs.
Navigate to the code for them, and you just have to copy and paste the two sections on your web page. After you do it once, its a no brainer after.
I can help you do it if you would like,
My personal email is Bryan@MediaPal.com
