But how can a listener find out the Artist/Song title?
I'm hearing a cool tune right now, but I have no clue who it is.....

Use "Another IE Popup Killer", DM? 'Bout the best freebie popup-stopper I've found:
Another IE Popup Killer V1.1 Freeware

I get the pop-up banner but no sound. I'm not using IE right now, but "MyIE2" a lite freebie browser shell that uses IE. Manages the pop-ups pretty well:
