"As you may be aware, Queen Elizabeth II has approved the creation of a Commemorative Medal in honour of the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the Throne. The Medal will be awarded to citizens who have made a significant contribution to Canada, to their community or to their fellow Canadians.



As a member of the Order of Canada, you have already demonstrated the exceptional qualities and outstanding service for which the Golden Jubilee Medal was created.

I am therefore pleased to inform you that you have been selected to receive the Jubilee Medal.



The Governor General has asked me to express to you her sincere congratulations, to which I add my own."
